6 Opportunities to Learn & Share Among Your Peers

If you've yet to join one of our forums this year, we have some good news! You still have six opportunities to do so this fall.

HYPE regularly organizes two types of forums. The first is our regional forums, which are one-day events that bring together a small community of about 30 people. The second is our annual forums, which are typically two- to three-day-long events of about 50 to 200 people. We always offer intensive days of learning and sharing about innovation management. We encourage the participants to share their successes but also their failures so everybody can reach their goals faster and avoid common pitfalls.

This is an excellent opportunity also to extend your network of fellow practitioners, people who have faced the same challenges as you and who can help you in overcoming them.

1. ÖBB Forum - Vienna, Austria

Our first event will take place on September 13th in Vienna, Austria. Hosted by ÖBB and organized by our partner HYVE, this regional forum will have a special focus on Open Innovation and all the presentations will be in German. Only a few spots are still available, so don't wait to book your seat!

2. Covestro Forum - Leverkusen, Germany

On September 27th, Covestro, based in Leverkusen, Germany, near Cologne, will host a regional forum entirely dedicated to innovation managers. The event will showcase a series of presentations that go in-depth on best practices and lessons learned from the field. Hear from experienced innovation managers like Daniel Käsmayr from BASF, Jenny Karras from Volkswagen Financial Services, and Lorenz Kramer from Covestro.

An Open Space Technology session will follow the presentations. There will be eight roundtables for which participants will propose topics spontaneously on-site. This format was much appreciated by the innovation managers who took part in the Technicolor Forum in Paris earlier this year. The Open Space Technology session is now an integral part of our forums as it gives participants a chance to address topics that really matter to them at the moment.

3.Idēa

We are proud to hold our first annual forum for Idea Manager. The two-day event is dedicated entirely to "Ideenmanagement." It will take place at the Kameha Grand Hotel in Bonn on October 18th & 19th.

The event is culturally diverse as it brings together not only ideas managers from a variety of industries but also other experts and inspiring visionaries. Attendees will learn from the experience of companies like Merck, Siemens, Continental, Deutsche Post, and Liebherr.

In addition to the speakers from these companies, this event will also feature keynotes from Gerriet Danz, passionate thinker, startup founder, and bestselling author, as well as Walter Gunz, the co-founder of Media Markt-Kette. Danz will speak on the importance of constantly questioning yourself to be an innovation world champion, and Gunz will share how Media Markt-Kette used idea management to drive the company forward.

The agenda also features seven roundtables and workshops each day to dive into specific topics like "what KPIs do you need for a successful idea management program of the future," "how to set up a successful idea campaign," and "how to work with the idea board afterward to quickly organize and evaluate ideas?

4. INNOVATE 2018 Boulder

After several years of running only regional forums in the U.S., we are proud to run our first annual forum from October 25th to 26th in Boulder, Colorado, at the beautiful Chautauqua Park Community House. We picked a unique location and venue for this special event.

Why Boulder? As we hold INNOVATE Bonn in the city of our European headquarters, we wanted to host the first U.S. INNOVATE event in the city where our U.S. team is expanding since Sandra Fernholz, the U.S. country manager, started there last year.

Why Chautauqua Park? Because it is a unique place to be inspired and focus in a relaxing and gorgeous environment. On top of running the presentations and breakout sessions in the splendid Community House, we have the pleasure of offering participants the opportunity to stay in individual cottages in the middle of the park, and to enjoy an excellent get-together dinner at the Chautauqua Dining Hall, a place rich in history. We are also lucky to have the park's archivists give a guided tour to help us better understand why this place is so important.

Regarding the agenda, we are delighted to announce a majority of women speakers in a field where we see more men in Europe. Joining this event gives you the chance to hear the stories of Lauren Miller at CommScope, Melani Roberson from UC San Diego, Jillian Bejtlich at BAE Systems, and Ethel Garnier-Amblard from Koch Ag & Energy Solutions. It is also a great pleasure to see our clients from Europe coming to the U.S. to share their experience like Stan Heuvink from HERE Technologies who also hosted a regional forum this year in the Netherlands.

5. Sydney Trains Forum

2018 is definitely the year of our "Firsts." In addition to hosting our first event with a partner in Austria, our first annual forum for idea managers in Bonn, and our first annual forum for innovation managers in the U.S., we are thrilled to host our first regional forum in Australia! We are very excited about this event that is organized with our partner Tim Murray from CSP Innovate.

The forum will take place on November 8th in Sydney. The agenda will offer a mix between experts' presentations with speakers from CSP Innovate and HYPE and clients sharing their experience, like HERE Technologies, Ricoh, Infrastructure and Services, Transport for NSW, and Sydney Trains. The afternoon will be dedicated to meetings to offer attendees the opportunity to address specific questions to CSP and HYPE, as well as to talk with the speakers and the other participants.

6. BKW Forum

Every year, we participate in an event organized by our partner ATIZO 360° in Switzerland. For the 2018 event, our partner TRENDONE will also join us. The event will take place on September 5th in Zürich.

In addition to this event, for the first time this year, we will have a "traditional" regional forum hosted by a client, BKW. Michel Arnal and his team will kindly welcome us in their lovely office in Bern on November 15th for a full day packed with presentations and an Open Space Technology session.

Adrian Gerber, CEO of ATIZO 360° will open the event with an expert keynote. Michel Arnal will follow by sharing the ups and downs of building and running an innovation program. The agenda is not finalized yet, but we will publish more information on the event page in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, you can already  reserve your seat as, like our other regional forums, the number of places is limited to 30 participants.
